Three Years of Supporting the Daffodil Run
Back in April, the team at Amherst Innovative Living participated in Big Brothers Big Sisters’ 16th Annual Daffodil Run in Amherst. Sponsoring the Daffodil Run for the third year in a row not only gives AIL an opportunity to support local organizations in Western Massachusetts, but also reflects our core vision that building a stronger community doesn’t stop at providing housing, but begins there. Events such as the Daffodil Run align with our values of creating a space that promotes connection and support among our community members.
About Big Brothers Big Sisters
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western Massachusetts (BBBSWM) is an independent 501 (c)(3) organization dedicated to creating and supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of Youth. The organization does this by matching youth (Littles) with adult mentors (Bigs) to create strong mentor relationships that go on to positively impact children for the rest of their lives.
These mentorships close the opportunity gaps many children struggle with overcoming in their lives, such as greater enrollment in higher education, increased salaries, reduced dependency on social services, and improved behavioral outcomes. They also give youth the self-confidence to navigate life and the knowledge that the future is bright for them.
The Daffodil Run is the organization’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and the revenue is used to continue its services to local children, their families, and their mentors.
The Daffodil Run
As one of the sponsors of the Daffodil Run, Amherst Innovative Living joined other passionate supporters like iHeartRadio, People’s Bank, and Five College Realtors to help make this annual event as successful as possible. Members of our team shared resources with our community at our booth, connected with local organizations, and even participated in the 5K/10K themselves! We are also proud to highlight Big Brothers Big Sisters in our community, encouraging our residents and loved ones to donate or even sign up to become mentors!
