Skating Into Community: Residents Enjoy a Winter Afternoon at UMass Amherst
At Amherst Innovative Living, we believe the best communities are built not just through where we live - but through the moments we share together.
Last Friday, residents and several members of our team gathered for a fun winter outing at the William D. Mullins Memorial Center at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The group spent the afternoon ice skating, enjoying the winter season while connecting with neighbors and friends in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
The outing was part of Amherst Innovative Living’s Resident Events Program, which is designed to create opportunities for residents to connect beyond their apartments. Events like this give neighbors a chance to step away from their daily routines, spend time together, and experience the local community in a fun and meaningful way.
Whether someone was confidently gliding across the ice or carefully making their way around the rink, the afternoon was filled with laughter, encouragement, and shared moments that made the experience memorable. Team members also had the chance to spend time with residents outside the usual day-to-day setting, strengthening the relationships that help make our communities feel like home.
Programs like these play an important role in fostering a welcoming and connected environment. By hosting resident events throughout the year, Amherst Innovative Living continues to create spaces where neighbors can build friendships, try new experiences, and create lasting memories together.
Thank you to everyone who joined us on the ice - we loved seeing our community come together!
