Hot Chocolate, Real Impact: $836K Raised for Survivors

Amherst Innovative Living at the 2024 Hot Chocolate Run

On a crisp and joyful morning in Northampton, our team at Amherst Innovative Living was honored to sponsor and support the 2024 Hot Chocolate Run—an incredible community event benefiting the vital work of Safe Passage.

With mugs of cocoa in hand and hearts full of purpose, we joined thousands of walkers, runners, and supporters in raising funds and awareness for survivors of domestic violence in Hampshire and Hampden Counties.

Supporting Survivors, Strengthening Community

Last year’s Hot Chocolate Run raised a record-breaking $836,142, surpassing its $800,000 goal thanks to 5,917 participants, 479 teams, and 8,337 individual donations. That’s an extraordinary show of support for an organization that plays a crucial role in our region.

Safe Passage is dedicated to creating a world free from domestic violence and relationship abuse. They offer free, confidential services to survivors —including peer support, counseling, legal advocacy, and education—all designed to empower individuals and create systemic change. Their work reaches both urban and rural areas through a key partnership with Hilltown Community Health Centers.

Why It Matters

Domestic violence affects individuals and families in every community, including ours. By sponsoring this event, we at Amherst Innovative Living wanted to do more than simply give—we wanted to stand in solidarity with survivors and contribute to a future where every person has the safety, resources, and support they need to thrive.

Safe Passage doesn’t just support survivors—they engage the broader community and advocate for systemic transformation. Their work reminds us that true change happens when individuals and organizations come together with compassion and purpose.

We’re Grateful to Be Part of It

We’re so proud of what our community accomplished together. Whether you ran, walked, donated, or simply shared a warm drink in support—thank you. Your generosity and energy helped Safe Passage continue their mission and reach more people in need.

We look forward to future opportunities to connect with and uplift our neighbors. This event reminded us that when we come together, even small actions can create a ripple of hope.
